Abstract: The critical micelle concentration(CMC) of sodium dodecyl sulphonate(AS) and polyoxyethylene nonyl phenol ethers(Oπ-10)composite emulsifier was detected and compared with the CMC of AS and Oπ-10 respectively by fluorescence probe technique according to the ratio of fluorescence intensity corresponding to first vibronic peak(I1,λ=373 nm) and third vibronic peak(I3,λ=384 nm) of pyrene(I1/I3)which varied with the emulsifier concentration. The results showed that the CMC of composite emulsifiers was between the CMC of AS and Oπ-10.The aggregation numbers of micelle with different ratios of composite emulsifiers were detected by steady-state fluorescence probe method in which Benzophenone was used as quencher, the experimental results showed that the aggregation number increased linearly with the increase of concentration of composite emulsifiers in the range of 4—9 times of CMC,and the aggregation number increased with the raise of the ratio of the Oπ-10 in composite emulsifiers. The effect of Composite Emulsifiers’ aggregation behaviors on the polymerization of organosilion-acrylate core-shell emulsion was discussed according to the I1/I3 values of pyrene.
