Abstract: In vitro photodynamic activities of amphiphilic α-tetra-(p-carboxyphenoxy)phthalocyanine zinc(Ⅱ) complex toward human Bel-7402 liver cancer cell were investigated by MTT method. The photoinactivation was influenced by concentration and light irradiation time was studied. This zinc phthalocyanine as one of photosensitizers exhibits good inhibition effects under appropriate concentration, and the inhibition process follows first order reaction rule approximately. In addition, singlet oxygen species generated by phthalocyanine under illumination could wreck the cancer cell membrane, resulting in death of target cell.
