Abstract: 2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-4,6-bis(trichloromethyl)-S-triazine(MBTT),a highly efficient UV initiator, which was synthesized based on p-methoxy benzonitrile and trichloro acetonitrile.MBTT was characterized by FTIR,1HNMR and UV absorption spectra.Real time infrared spectroscopy(RTIR) was used to investigate the effect of different monomer system, different light intensity and concentrations of photoinitiator on the polymeirzation kinetics. The results showed that the double bond conversion of diacrylate monomer is higher than that of triacrylate monomer. With the increase of light intensity, the rate of polymerization(Rp) and final double bond conversion increased and the induction period shortened.
