Abstract: In this work, the mechanism of fluorescence quenching of 2-aryl benzoxazole in different solvents by carbon tetrachloride has been studied. It is found that there is an unequivocal electron transfer character observed in the quenching process by several ways. At the same time, the active radicals formed from the process of electron transfer was utilized to initiate the polymerization of MMA monomer, and PMMA with certain degree of polymerization was obtained.
