Abstract: Interaction of metal complexes of hypocrellin A(M-HA),such as Mg2+-HA, Y3+-HA,La3+-HA with human serum albumin(HSA) is studied by spectroscopic methods. The results suggest that M-HA and HSA can form 1:1 complex with moderate association constants(>2×104 L/mol) at pH 7.4 and 5.0.Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and fluorescence quenching experiments indicate that photoinduced electron transfer from HSA to M-HA may occur at excited state.
