Abstract: High humidity and UV-light irradiation were used to pretreat the precursor films of TiO2.It’s shown that the pretreatment could enhance the superhydrophilicity of the resulting films and an optimization time existed.IR and Raman results showed that hydrolysis and condensation were promoted by pretreatment. The superhydrophilicity could last several weeks in the dark.Large amount of acid pinkie red was adsorbed on superhydrophilic TiO2 films and underwent photodegradation gradually.

Key words: pretreatment, TiO2, superhydrophilicity, photocatalytic property
