Abstract: In this paper,a linear CCD was used to detect the whole physical developing process of silver diffusion transfer reversal process in photographic chemistry, and the physical develop-ing rate was obtained by the change of reflected intensity of metallic silver with the cells of CCD and the reacting time. The influence of the ingredient of the working solution was studied. The results indicated that when KSCN was used as the silver complexing gent, and hydroquinone as the developer, the rate of physical development increased with the raising of the concentration of KSCN,and decreased with the raising of the concentra-tion of hydroquinoe, but the results were contrary when Na2S203 was used as the silver tom-plexing agent instead of KSCN. However, there was the best result-hen the concentration of hydroquinone was suitable, using uracil as the silver complexing agent. The influence of the protector and the pH on the metallic silver in physical development was also studied. It was proved that this method was available in the study of physical development.
