Abstract: By means of ESR method, the photochemical reactions of three acridine N-oxides with a series of hydrocarbons, alcohols, aldehydes and ketones have been investigated. Results show that acridine N-oxides posses strong ability of photochemical hydrogen-abstraction; the nitroxyl iree radicals formed in H-abstraction reaction are rather stable, the lifetime of which are over A period of about 80-120 hours.
