Abstract: The photocatalytic-oxidation of H2S on TiO2 was investigated.Oxygen is indispensable for the photodestruction of H2S.When the mol ratio of oxygen to H2S was 42:1 in the raw gas,the degradation of H2S reached 97% with 28000 h-1 volume space velocity.TiO2 catalyst can be poisoned by S0.After TiO2 catalyst was regenerated by light in the presence of air,S0 was converted to SO42-,the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 was recovered. The presence of surface SO42- can stabilize the photocatalytic activity of TiO2.

Key words: TiO2, H2S, photocatalytic, SO42-
