Abstract: Nano-crystalline TiO2 film was prepared by combining the sol-gel and hydrothermal process. The crystal type of the TiO2 film was identified as anatase. In the ethylene carbonate (EC)/ propylene carbonate (PC) electrolyte system, the effect of the content of I2 and KI was studied. The results showed that the photocurrent increased at first and decreased subsequently with the increasing of I2 content in the electrolyte, but the changes were not evident. At the same time, the dark current was elevated, and as a result, the open-circuit photovoltage (VOC) was reduced. When the electrolyte system contained few KI,the short-circuit photocurrent could be enhanced by the addition of more KI in the electrolyte. When the content of KI was higher than 0.2 mol/L,this change slowed down. The mechanism of these effects had also been explored.
