Fabrication of the Optical Waveguide Ethanol Gas Sensor

Abstract

Abstract: An optical Waveguide(OWG) gas sensor was fabricated by coating a thin film of Poly(Vinylidene Fluoride)(PVDF) onto the surface of K⁺-ion exchanged glass OWG.The results show that the present sensor has rapid,reversible,high sensitivity and selectivity to ethanol gas and is also characterized by low cost,simple structure,and facile fabrication.
