SYNTHESIS OF POLYGLYCOL ETHER TYPE DONOR-ACCEPTER SYSTEMS AND INVESTIGATION OF INTRAMOLECULAR ENERGY TRANSFER

Abstract: Two donor accepter systems linked by polyethylene glycol were synthesized. It was found that on selective excitation of l-naphthoic acid moiety very efficient intramolecular singlet singlet-energy transfer from l-naphthoic acid to 9-aminoacridin occured. The effect of solvent polarity on energy transfer efficiency has been discussed.
