Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the value of multi-slice spiral CT (MSCT) in staging diagnosis and chemotherapy efficacy prediction of gastric cancer. One hundred patients with gastric cancer treated were selected, all patients were treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy and accepted MSCT examination. According to the efficacy of chemotherapy, 100 patients were divided into effective group with 39 cases and ineffective group with 61 patients. The results showed that, the Kappa value of MSCT T stage and pathological T stage was 0.706 (P<0.05), and the diagnostic accuracy rate of MSCT T stage was 79.00%. The Kappa value of MSCT N stage and pathological N stage was 0.718 (P<0.05), and the diagnostic accuracy rate of MSCT N stage was 83.00. The reduction rate of CT tumor density and CT tumor volume in the effective group were significantly higher than those in the ineffective group (P<0.05). In predicting the effectiveness of chemotherapy the area under ROC curve of CT tumor density reduction rate and CT tumor volume reduction rate were 0.922 and 0.811, respectively (P<0.05). MSCT has a good diagnostic value in preoperative staging of gastric cancer, and could predict the efficacy of chemotherapy.
