Abstract: Ultrasound shear wave elastography is a new method in elastography that offers the advantages of real-time, non-invasive, and quantitative measurement of tissue elasticity. This technique can be used to evaluate the biomechanical properties of muscles, which are correlated with their biological characteristics. Additionally, it provides a novel tool for diagnosing musculoskeletal disorders. Other components of the musculoskeletal system, such as tendons, ligaments, and nerves, may also be subjected to physiological assessment and diagnosis of associated ailments. This paper presents a short synopsis of their examination in muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves.
