Abstract: The effects of various factors on the stabilization efficiency (5) of polycrystalline n-CdSe electrode in the aqueous solution of K4Fe(CN)6 containing EDTA were investigated using the rotating ring disk electrode (RRDE). The beneficial effects of metal ion treatments on stability were demonstrated. With Ru ion treatment 5 increased nearly up to unity. In the case of Au, Pt and Pb, S increased by a factor of 2 to 2.5. The presence of metallic layers deposited on the surface of polycrystalline n-CdSe electrode was proved by the analysis of X-ray fluorescence spectra and the Mott-Schottky plots.
