Abstract: The wettability of the solid powders (silica gel or kaolin) were measured with Washburn equation expressed as contact angles. The contact angle changes for SDBS(Sodium Dodecyl Benzene Sulfonate) aqueous solutions on a silica gel or kaolin powder were studied. The average aggregation number of micelle in SDBS aqueous solution was measured with fluorescence quenching method. The relationship among the wettability of the powder, the critical micelle concentration (CMC) of SDBS and the mimic oil recovery of the resident oil on the powder was explored.
