Abstract: Applying Wagner Polarization, the electric properties of silver bromide tabular grain emulsions were studied.According to the study the unexposed tabular grain did possess certain amount of electron conductivity, which was comparatively higher than that of the exposed tabular grains. When anti-fog agents were added, the tabular grain showed a significant increase of its electron conductivity. This variance revealed the state of the combination of free electrons with interstitial silver ions within the silver bromide emulsion crystals. The retardant effect of thiohydrotetrazole,a typical anti-fog agent, was also illustrated from the viewpoint of its molecular structure.

Key words: silver bromide, electron conductivity, hole conductivity, anti-fog dopants
